One SQL engine for transactional to analytical
Join us for an exciting Meetup on how to find the ultimate database nirvana. The discussion will focus on hybrid transactional/analytical processing (HTAP) also referred to as converged data platform, multi-model or unified. These terms all try to encompass the concept, but we will take a look at the challenges that may get in your way such as:
- What is needed for a single query engine to support all workloads?
- What does it take for that single query engine to support multiple storage engines, each serving a different need?
- Can a single query engine support all data models?
- Can it provide enterprise-caliber capabilities?
Rohit Jain, the CTO at Esgyn will be presenting. He is currently working on Apache Trafodion, currently in incubation. Trafodion is a transactional to analytics SQL-on-Hadoop RDBMS. Jain has 28 years of experience in application and database development at companies which include Tandem, Compaq, and Hewlett-Packard.
We hope you join us at the Utegration office on Monday, August 8, 2016.
